Don't really know if this is in the right section..

i have struggled iwth mental health issues for years and am on the way to recovery, but is this something to mention in interviews or something if i need to explain something difficult i have overcome or something else where it's relevant? as it's taken a lot and obviously i wouldn't be doing it for sympathy or anything, but it's just an example of a difficult problem that i've had to over come..

    thank you

Can't see why it wouldn't be worth a mention

You should ask your referee to mention anything like that - keep your PS for all the positive stuff It might come up in interview as well

Yeah it will be good to mention it, as you went through a recovery process not only with medication but by changing your attitude towards certain things and altering your lifestyle. Not everyone are able to cope with such major life events. However, do mention what you have gained from it (skills and qualities) and how these make you a strong candidate. Always be positive.

Also, always declare issues like these, so the university can offer you help. If not, leave it for your referee.

    Hope you are recovering well.
