I imagine it's very cheap. The city itself is very budget friendly I find. To be presumptious, if you're from Devon I imagine you'll think it's absolutely amazing.

If you go to the Albert Dock it's bloody expensive, that' where all the young professionals go, but there are cheaper places, though I wouldn't describe it as a cheap city.

I went to visit one of my friends at Liverpool uni a couple of weeks ago. It's a pretty big place and there's lots to do...as for clubs and pubs, there are loads. I went up on a weekend so only went to the union but I know my friend thinks the pubs and clubs there are great..and she's from London so is used to it. The drinks are pretty cheap (well, compared to London) and there are always student nights doing 'pound a pint' etc etc so I wouldn't worry about it being expensive.

Does anyone know what the Night life is like in Liverpool i come from Devon and there only a few clubs around, also is it very expensive to go out?

Hey Im off to Liverpool university too - but Im from Cornwall! Nice to know that some other people from down here are venturing up there! What are you planning on studying?

well I am not from UK but starting a course (financial economics) at liverpool uni too!
where do you guys plan to live? i'm thinking of non-university accomodation, cos that one is too far from the city center, i am thinking of 'grand central' or 'prospect point'.. what do'you think about these ones?
im goin to umist, but i live very near liverpool and am out there most weekends. Friday night at the biggest student club "The Krazy House" is very cheap. 2 quid in, then 50p bottles of beer. Saturdays can be expensive, although me and friends like to frequent a little irish pub which sells Stella 1.50 a pint all night before we go out

Yep I know that nighclub. Three floors and all. Seems really good, never have been though. Hopefully I will have a chance to since I made Liverpool my first choice. Don't know why I made Westminster my second, oh well.

K2 plays rock music that I doubt I'd hear round here lol

Krazy house is like marmite, ppl either hate it or love it. Its very grebby on days, very dingy all the time, and the stairs cripple you when u are drunk. Apparently its alot better when drunk, but as ive always been off my head when in there so i can't draw any comparisons to a sober Krazy house experiences. K1 is usually harder rock K2 ska rock/bit of indie K3, much more pop rock, then stuff like born slippy etc but still no proper cheese u mite find. Drinks are cheap but the floor is sticky and u sweat shit loads in there.

Oh liverpool town is cool on weekdays, modos and consert square is good. U usually spot hollyoaks folk around there. Weekends bit shit, expensive and full of locals :O, but still alrite. Go to double vision on mon at the guild early, stock up on the double shots of vodka for a quid, and enjoy it. Best thing ever! Time tunnel is ok on sat, but generally increased drunkardness means better time. Into indie rock/open mic go to o'neils, l'batuea and jacarana and obviously the cavern tho u have to pay and it out of the way.

A few of my friends are at liverpool university and if you go to the right places the nightlife is apparantly excellent! It's also pretty damn good for shopping (although obviously it won't beat London). In certain clubs/pubs they do special offers on certain nights for students at ridiculously low prices, at least that's what I've been told. I plan to go to one of the three uni's there since I have visited l'pool on a few occations myself and I know that it's where I want to be.

krazy house is great, prob going tomorrow night- if not, def next saturday. i would say k1 is kinda grunge (and slightly scary), k2 is your punk rock stuff and k3 is dance/r'n'b/cheese.

liverpool is pretty cheap for a night out and nowhere near as dangerous as people say it is- there's loads of police around so there's rarely problems.

Is there much of the 'goth' scene there at all? j/w

"Goth" scene? Whats that then, where they have face painting and "how to become the perfect manic depressive" parties?

No joke intended.

I thought you would reply  I used the term goth in inverted commas deliberately since I know so many people who have differing definitions on what it actually is. Basically the scene that you despise

Why did you think I would reply? Thats quite worrying. I don't despise goths, just think of them with contempt.

Why did you make such a silly assumption anyway?
Liverpool student nightlife is getting a serious injection of FUN!!!

Society is THE place to be this year!

WATCH THIS SPACE!!!
heh heh!! sounds great, can't wait to go there now.
Over here don't get much nightlife.

if you're coming from the south, liverpool is VERY cheap in comparison. and if you're not used to a biiig cubbing atmosphere, concert square and matthew street may scare you the first time you walk down them on a friday night. the krazy house is fantastic (as has been pointed out by many) however beware of it on a saturday as the price to get in shoots up to £5
I agree with my bestest buddy pree!

Lpool night life is amazing. i had a friend from birmingham who came up for my 18th, we went out to liverpool and he loved it! he said it was so full of life and so different to anything he had been to!

all i can say is thank god for student nights
