    Hi !

Yesterday when I was sitting my Chemistry iGCSE Paper 1, the fire alarm was accidentally set off and so we had to evacuate the school. Although the two exam invigilators had no clue what was going on, we were all separated and didn't talk. We left the room for about 20 minutes but there was a flashing red light (controlled by the fire department, not school) until the end of the paper. They gave us the extra time at the end, and our teacher said it's possible that they may give us a few extra marks for disturbance.

Does anybody know how lenient these exam boards are about this sort of thing?? Was just wondering if it was possible to get a few extra marks

    Thanks!

There's no way they'd give you extra marks for a 'flashing red light'.

They will probably increase your marks by 1-2% because of all the discruption - not for the light but for all the commotion of leaving the hall..

It's highly unlikely, and at the discrepancy of the board.

Okay, thats really helpful thank you. Was just wondering what they did in this kind of situation as personally I think it's a bit unfair if they award marks; I don't really feel as I would have got any better if it hadn't of happened!
