I'm doing of mice and men and I'm confused on how to answer it? Do I only talk about the extract in part a then the whole novel in Part b? But in part b, do I focus on one character?

Part B is normally about context.

In part A you talk more about how and why the author uses literary devices to create a certain effect/perception of a character
In part B you talk more about the surrounding context of the extract, and how the extract reflects events that occurred during the time of writing
    Hope I helped
