    Most of the questions in the physics papers are given to 2 sig figs, I tend to give the full (4/5 dp) answer in my working and then in the actual answer box I'd put the 2 sig fig answer. But even in the mark schemes they're a bit random in the amount of sig figs they give as the answer (varying from 2 to 3). I think you'd get the mark for leaving it as 3.8A and that's what I'd do, I think they're pretty lenient on 2 or 3 as long as there's no explicit mark for sig figs, and in which case the answer should be 2 for your specific question.
