TMT is the theory that in our lives we have a conflict between seeking to continue our existence and the recognition that our existence is finite and will inevitability end.

I feel that, as a society, we do not discuss death and its implications nearly enough, especially given it is an inescapable eventuality for all of us. I am inclined to believe that this is because we are scared of what death means/entails, and thus try to shield ourselves from it by not discussing it and thus pretending that it won't eventually claim us all.

I guess I'm looking for critiques of the theory? Non-religious/deistic critiques only, mind.

    Thanks.
