What is the best way to start an essay on the modern drama (Inspector calls/Journey's end) and the prose (Of mice and men)?

Is this true for OCR?
What's prose? For starting it just introduce what you are going to do eg In this passage Steinbeck portrays Curley's wife as provocative and then get straight into it with your quote and don't have an introduction or outline what else you're going to say for an introduction.

Okay thankyou! Everyone has to study a prose from different cutlers but the one mostly used is of mice and men
