I can't agree... But that's because I don't want to get kicked out of my home! I'm lodging with some friends, and he works for Royal Mail's Mail Centre in Chester. But then, they're very efficient in terms of sending out the post. It's just waiting for the stuff that comes to the door that's a ball-ache.

And they're probably still catching up after Christmas.

Yep. It annoys me when people blame it on the Post Office though because they're not the same thing! One of my family members works there and she hates it when people say that.

They take a letter from Dundee to my house for 26p. I can't really complain about that, I wouldn't do it.....

Why does Royal Mail suck so much?

They don't, in fact I think they're pretty damned good. Over 94% of first class mail arrives the next day, and fewer than one in a thousand items get lost. And those are independently-collected statistics. The fact is that most lost, delayed or damaged mail is caused at least partially a fault of the sender e.g. incomplete or inaccurate addresses, inadequate packaging.

I've ordered things from the Internet and twice been lost by Royal Mail. After waiting for the company to send the item for a second time it's been from a different company. I guess my family are really unlucky with Royal Mail.

Are you absolutely sure that the company did actually post it? Sometimes the blame is unfairly put on Royal Mail -- for example my dad runs his own business, and whenever he is late sending out a letter he will backdate it a few days, hoping that they get the blame for the delay.

I think royal mail first class/special delivery is excellent. So far, I've received 95% of my stuff the next day/things I've sent out arrived next day as well.

Christmas time is a little different so I'm not gonna comment.

Yeah the royal mail is amazing and well cheap, i get alot of old deleted cd's from ebay and sell the odd thing too, royal mail in every case have been fast delivering the package.

Compared to private courier services they are much cheaper!

Never had a problem with Royal Mail, and also vehmently oppose privatisation of the postal service.

i've posted 2nd class for a few ebay things in the past and they've arrived in a day which was nice
it's probably at a sorting office or somthing, they process 1st class first

I've sent just over 1200 eBay items with them, and they've lost 2 and got about 20 late. That's not TOO bad really...
