I found them really easy. The heroes extract we had gone through in class so I was really pleased.

Oh hahaha that's really lucky! It went okay for me as well but I think I did better on An Inspector Calls than heroes. Which questions did you choose?

How did everyone's exam go??? How did people find the AVFTB and ACC questions??? Hope everyone gets the grades they want and deserve in August
I chose the "How does 'An Inspector Calls' present/show attitudes of society towards women in the 20th century?" <-- Or something like that and for Heroes I chose the one about the abuse of power

I chose the attitudes towards women too! What points did you make?

I chose the attitudes towards women from AIC and the one with sympathy and Francis for heroes.

Well from what I can remember, I talked about the following points:
- Mr Birling's true motives for him marrying his daughter to Gerald Croft (i.e. Business)
- How Eric threatened Eva if she did not let him in and let the inevitable happen. As if she was just a sex object, no more.
- The way Gerald used her for an amount of time to fill his sexual desires
- The phrases used to describe women such as "haunt of women of the town" or "she was a good sport", again quite derogatory terms
- The way the above points represent the attitude toward most women at the time.
- The way Upper Class women see Lower Class women, i.e. Mrs Birling rejecting Daisy Renton's plea, she states "women of that class", and so on so forth

- However, I then mentioned how the new generation of people have more socialistic minds, i.e. Eric and Sheila, and how Sheila states "they are not just cheap labour"

I then just summed these points, and a few more up into a conclusion.

The above is just rough points, of course I heavily expanded on each one

And then a few other things. I can't remember them now though aha

For an inspector calls i did Mrs Birling, i loved that question! I talked about how Eva lied when coming to the woman's organisation causing Mrs Birling to be suspicious, also how Eva called herself Mrs Birling. I also talked about how she found out that Eric was the father of the baby and an alcoholic making the reader pity her and how shes so oblivious. I also mentioned how she thinks that the father "ought to marry" her because its not the organisation's responsibility to take care of the child!
I liked that question more than the Heroes one. For the heroes one, i wrote about Francis.

Guys, i forgot to write a conclusion! How bad will that cost me?

If you included all of your main points, stating how it shows the original point your trying to make in one form or another, I think you'll be OK although I may be wrong. However, I do think, including all of the main points that you wanted to say should really be enough.

My points were
-Mr Birlings dismissive attitude towards the women at his factory.
-how Sheila is ignorant to the way women like Eva were treated.
-how Sheila is often ignored by the older generation showing that they see her views as unimportant.
-Mrs Birlings degrading view towards working class women.
-how the inspector believes everyone should be equal showing a socialist view.
-Sheilas feminist attitude and linked it to the suffregette movement at the time.

I may have missed something but its difficult to remember. Unfortunately I didn't get chance to write about Gerald and Eric even though I feel that I could have had some good points for them but I was worried that I wouldn't leave myself enough time to answer the Heroes questions. But overall I'm happy

Thanks! That reassured me
For Inspector Calls, the women context question I put:
- Mr Birling's views on his employees.
- Shelia showing sympathy for them and how she is contrasted with Eva Smith showing how the attitudes are different towards them.
- Gerald using the women for his own benefit.
- Mrs Birling having a prejudiced opinion on all working class women.
- Conclusion on how there were pessimistic attitudes towards working class women and more optimistic attitudes towards upper class women. Shows how society has changed from 1912 to 1945.
