I'm talking about recent times, not the 50s. Lately I've seen, and fell victim, of double standards ...

Men. I watched a documentary on suicide and its very prominent in men over 40. There's a battle to be macho and strong, while suppressing emotions and how they really feel.

Both genders suffer from double standards.

Who has it worse is more down to the individuals, some men may not find themselves suffering from any double standards whereas some women might and vice versa. For example a man with anxiety probably suffers more from the double standards (men must be tough) than a woman who doesn't engage in casual sex (men are studs/women are sluts).

I do think it's obvious though that both suffer, and in no way is it a competition. I think it's important for both genders to acknowledge the hardships each gender faces. The only way to fix a problem is to have both genders working together to get past it. Otherwise it just becomes a pissing match.
