Havent heard from LSE yet- a good thing?

Hey.

Do you guys think having not heard from them is a good thing. I was thinking yesterday thatthe longer you dont hear from them, the better it is.

My reasoning was based on the fact that the vast, vast majority of exceptional candidates apply before october 15th. About 2/3 weeks after this, the first batch of offers and rejections was handed out and based on how things went at my school, the 'creme de la creme' got the first offers (i.e. 8a*s +, full marks at as), and the weaker ones gt the first rejections. A few weeks later, another batch of offers was given out, along with a large amount of rejections. In fact, I think Im the only one from my school who hasnt heard from them. Anyway, I think now that I must be at an advantage, as my application will be being compared to those that have applied more recently, and working on the controversial assumption that these candidates are weaker than those who applied before October 15th, mine should be one of the stronger ones.

This is just my wishful, hopeful guess:p:
I dont know how LSE's admission process works, but if anyone does, Id love to know what sort of position I am most likely in at the moment

thanks

no, but Im saying there will be far fewer very strong applications going through now than their were in October.

The exceptionally strong candidates have already received an offer. With that said, LSE generally works on a reject-first-accept-later basis, so no news is good news for now. Many people have already been rejected for this course.

Oh yeh, the course Ive applied to is straight econ btw.

he is an exception though.
the longer you wait, the more likely you are to be made an offer, unis like SOAS also do this.

mate i think you are reading too much into the situation. don't forget lse receives thousands of applications from other EU countries and Asia. these things take time. be patient, hope for the best, and ultimately, don't let it affect your life otherwise.
yeah, ^^ this is true. i didn't get my LSE offer (which was for govt+econ) until March I think, so there is still hope! anyway, try not to worry about it too much.

Yeah i applied in september, and am still waiting, ....... patiently ( i guess)! And like hads, i have a 43 predicted IB too.

Dunno about me I am still waiting for socialy policy and economics.

best thing you can do is relax mate, i remember last year i got my offer in december but my mate got his in march or something and we were pretty much the same- you've missed 2 lots of rejections so stay positive but don't read into it, and last of all good luck

It may be a good thing if uve been accepted by most of the other unis u've applied to (Oxbridge is another case here) as u can rely on the strength of ur application. I felt like the end of the world when I got my Warwick rejection letter, not because I was rejected by Warwick, but because of the fear that there must have been some major problems with my app and the LSE may reject me as well (I was just paranoid). Then right on the next day, I got my L101 offer. Sweet^_^ So cheer up guys! Sth worth having is worth waiting for!

Well, so far I have been rejected from Oxford, but given offers by UCL and Manchester. Still to hear from my other three (LSE included).

LSE waited until late February/early March before they rejected me last year. Don't worry about it, there's nothing you can do; and you're right, they do tend to weed out people in batches right from October-ish, so not having heard from them is not a bad thing.
just chill, they will get in touch, but will probs be the last.
