Well I don't know the bloke which makes it a bit harder. But you say he's posh... you can get some nice cuff links in River Island? Thats always a good option.

You could go for a DVD. I'm sure you know the kind of things he'd be like.

Or go round Boots, for less than £20 you can get some expensive hair wax or something, if your cousin is into that. Or something that smells nice.

I could go on...

Is this a cousin you know well and are sort of friends with?
If so perhaps a joke present and or some cheap tack is always good fun...

It obviously depends on your relationship with eachother but it must be pretty good if your buying him a present (my parents do the gifts for cousins...apart from one or two we don't really know them that well...eg in a friendly manner- course that may well just be my family being...odd!)...if you know what he's into then you could get him a related pressie- eg music/sport related/computer game...

and if all else fails- you can't go wrong with a nice crisp note! (money rather than memo!)

why do I blabber so?

please ignor my cousin comment...it came out wrong due to bad punctuation and makes very little sense...I meant to say parents by our cousins presents -think I will leave it at that rather than mumbling on about family relationships...*sigh*

A gift voucher, they’re always a good last resort. The only trouble is choosing a place to obtain the voucher from. Hmm.

But then, there are always the novelty porn gifts. I highly recommend ‘The sexy strip mug’- that kept me entertained for at least five minutes last Christmas.

Were you able to get him something gift-worthy in the end?
If so...what did you purchase?

Just curious

nope, put money in the card!

i only usually see them for 1 week a year for either xmas or easter, so i have no idea what he's into.

and the reason i got to choose the presant rather than my family is 1) i live with my dad and 2 siters, who are all compleetly dosey and wouldnt remebmer they're own birthdays let alone anyone who we dont actually see
2) im the only one who is any good at choosing presants
3) im the only one who can be bothered.

my dad refunds me the money at the end of the month that ive spent on cards/presants for people.

anyway, hope he liked the money coz it was his bday yesterday!

thanx everyone for suggestions - i would have gone with a porn gift, except i want my bday presant off them next month- so upsetting the rells was not a good option!

Why don't you think about giving a handmade little toy.
Can you use POP(plaster of paris), or make a handmade postcard.
Or you can think about a cup painted by your self.
A birthday present should contain wishes.
A paper that contains a cartoon and wish by each of your member
will do great Plus a gift if you want to.

He's 16 - what about porn. Someone got my brother 'playboy' for his 16th (many years ago) it kept him entertained for weeks.

Money goes down well but is inpersonal.

My local cinema does a gift package of two cinema tickets, pop corn and drinks. You buy a voucher and who ever recieves it chooses the film.

OK just read this and it's too late - oh well maybe next year.
