Anybody?
I applied to university of west of england in bristol, doing a course acredited by rics, and the institute of town planners. My other main choice was harper adams. I think some of the big firms favour oxford brookes, but not sure. Depending on your grades, cambridge do 'land economy' which is acredited by Rics, and is a good one to go for, i'd have done it if i had got the grades.

Thanks, really want to do Building surveying though. are you at UWE now? what's it like
i'm not there yet, just got my ucas sent off. Hoping to do building suveying as well, although trying to find a course i liked that was also accredited by RICS was hard. UWE is where i'm hoping to go, so fingers crossed. They are holding an open day 17th feb that i'm going to. Dont really know much about it otherwise.

which other ones have you applied for? and what do you think of them? Oxford Brookes doesn't do BS does it just construstion management.
some of what applied to arent strictly building surveying, but thats what i hope to do, this is what i applied to:

Building Surveying , brighton
Property Development and Planning, UWE
Rural Enterprise and Land Management, harper adams
Building Surveying , kingston
Business of Real Estate, oxford brookes
Rural Land Management , royal ag college

Some of these are more focused on rural, but thats just my preference. Greenwhich does building surveying i think, try this link,

Great thanks for that. Did you have trouble writing your ucas statement applying for different courses? have you been accepted at any yet?

Was thinking of applying to do building surveying this year (2008 start). I am expected to get AAB or ABB in my a levels. Which uni is best for building surveying and why in your opinion. Thanks

Did you consider Central Lancashire? Their Department of the Built Environment is very very good indeed.
hey guys, im planning on becoming a chartered surveyor. the best course for becoming one is at Reading. Its the best without a doubt. the cambridge one is awesome too....but its cambridge. i applied this year and failed. i might reapply while at reading. The degree at reading offers accreditation with RICS and RTPI which is awesome and v.handy. Employers often turn to Reading as their no.1 recruitment spot, so go there! its really good. and wit han ABB prediction u should get in easy peasy.

gd luck with the applications, ciao
You can apply to http://www.cstt.org.uk/index.html. I think this is the best way for a career in building surveying or quantity surveyor. it offers on the job training, and learning via a part time course.
m.szamfeber, what subjects do you study at A-level?

Trouble with Reading is that they don't do a sandwich course which I thought employers would like, what's everyones opinions on this sandwich or not?
They don't do a specific 4 year sandwich course, but i think you can ask to take a year out to gain work experience. The problem being that you would have to organize it yourself.
