You just have to try some products to see which ones right. Sudocrem, tea tree oil, something with benzoyl peroxide in. There are a lot of threads on this, if you put spots in the search engine, there will be more advice in those

Drink more water, eat better, exercise, get a good wash routine. If all else fails - see a GP.

I have bad skin which I went to my doctor about and asked if I could switch to a different pill (Dianette). He just said no, which annoyed me. He's nice otherwise.

It's often to do with diet - as others have said. Drink heaps of water, and eat your five-a-day, and you'll notice visible improvements!

he doesnt sound like a nice doctor!!

maybe go and ask another doctor, especially if the first one didn't bother to give you a reason for saying no. maybe say that your friend went on it or something and it helped her when nothing else would help?

good luck!

The best way, but arguably, the hardest way (particularly if you're not inclined to such a healthy lifestyle), is to eat healthily and drink healthily, and exercise on a regular basis. I've been doing this for the last 4 weeks and you notice the difference, and sunshine for me, from personal experience, works wonders for the skin. But we're in winter, there is very little sunlight and very few rays. Eat and drink sensibly, cut out the crap and do regular exercise. I think people show their idle ways in going for these alleged spot and acne removing creams/tablets etc...the hardest way is the best way...

However, i do appreciate some have to take creams etc...because irrespective of their eating and drinking culture, they are still plagued with nasty spots and acne, etc...

A whole world of myths. You can just simply be damn unlucky with your genes. Washing can make spots worse because it can overdry the skin; they have very little to do with personal hygiene and have never been scientifically linked to diet.

If over the counter stuff fails then prescription medicines, particularly antibiotics, can help. There is also a treatment called accutane which is like a last resort becuase it is dangerous and expensive.

i think, or at least hope, that the poster 'g2da3' was joking....

roaccutane is 'last resort', rather expensive, drugs should always be a last-resort, with other alternatives/options/avenues exhausted before this stage, like you say. I was probably a little guilty of being idle with exhausting options before the accutane stage, and when i was on accutane....yikes...not a good experience.
