Fancy dress theme

Its my friends 20th bday soon and we r trying to think of a brilliant theme for everyone to dress up as. So far we've had ideas like services, something beginning with 'M' and retro athletics (lots of lycra hehe). Has anyone else been to a brillant fancy dress or got any really funny ideas? x x x

I was gonna say pirates and prostitutes (went to one of those and was very funny) or maybe a traffic light party (where you have to dress green yellow or red to fit your relationship status) hehe have fun :smile:

At work for new years eve we all dressed up as emergency services/armed forces.

Everyone put the effort in too so made it worthwhile. Nothing worse than turning upto a party where people have only made a half arsed effort.

For my 18th we had a theme of the first letter of everybody's name, meant there was more choice for people!

Its my last day in yr 11 soon and my group of friends are thinking of fancy dress for the last day. Anyone got any idea? We thought about brownies/rainbows and smurfs? Any ovas?

Some themes we've had:

* Tube station names (for example come as an angel, or a bank)
* Ancient Romans
* Your mum (i.e. dress as your mum - though this does get decidedly weird if you pull someone at the party)
* The 80s (although three people all came as Thatcher... ******s)
* Album covers

we had a 6th form theme day for charity and it was on a film theme this year - was good - we had people go as ghostbuster, mary poppins, postman pat, incredible hulk, bat man, etc. I went as Trinity from the matrix films - lol

The best one i went to recently was 'Totally Tasteless' that was fun, my friend and i went both in exactly the same outfit, head to toe leopard print. Flouncy grannyish leopard print top, leopard print leggings and leopard print shoes with just a black skirt to break it up. the only danger with that theme is if you turn up in something that someone else might actually like, but that is saved if you wear it with something that really doesn't go and say something like 'well actually this is my own top, but its tasteless cos it out it with this skirt.'
