I have just completed my second year of my undergraduate degree, obviously If planning on applying for medicine entry in September 2016, I should be sitting my UKCAT this year before October 2015. (right?)

My question is, if I wanted to take a year out before starting medicine, would it be possible to sit my UKCAT in the summer AFTER my final year - in order to enter medicine the year after? or is that not allowed in the application cycle?

Would I have to sit it this year and if successful then defer my place until the next academic year?

THANKS.

What I meant was: Instead of sitting UKCAT in 2015 for 2016 entry, is it possible to sit in 2016 for 2017 entry? but within that year, as I would have already graduated in 2016 it would be classed as a year out.

Yes. The UKCAT is only valid for one year. So if you want to apply for 2017 entry, you would sit it in the summer of 2016.
