Acceptance letter from RGU - when will you get it?

I'm going to apply for fees assistance, and i need an acceptance letter to prove my place in Uni. I got a letter from Ucas stating my place in Uni, but i'm not sure if that's the letter that i needed or not. Is there really an "acceptance letter" as a final prove of your place in uni? I haven't have any letter from RGu since i've been given an unconditional offer. The reason i am asking is because i don't want to sit n wait for the letter, while i could have sent my application form long ago. Please , this fees assistance is really important to me!!!!!
RGU send a letter that goes:

Dear [your name goes here]

[NAME OF COURSE]

Congratulations on gaining your places on the above course at The Robert Gordon University

It also contains a lot of other garbage such as your matriculation number and how to enrol etc. etc. etc.

I should thnk as you have recieved an unconditional offer it shouldn't be too long before you get it.

If it is urgent phone the admissions department and they should be able to tell you when they will send it out to you.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!
oops, hope I still have the letter lol. I think I got one anyway, in fact, I know I did. Will have to have a rake around or else ask RGU to send a second copy :s-smilie:
I don't remember getting a matric number. Is it just your UCAS number?

Do we need to send a copy of an SQA certificate to RGU?
why would you send RGU your sqa certificate? I'm pretty sure they would check themselves before even making you an offer

They requested that I send them a copy so I did.
ok fair enough, just didn't know that was the norm
I had to fax them a copy of my SQA certificate for confirmation purposes. It appears to be standrad procedure at RGU.

Your Matric number is NOT your UCAS number. If you matriculate in 07 (even if you defer to 08) your matric number will begin 07 and then have other numbers after it. You require your acceptance letter to get your matric card when you start the uni (although you should be able to get another copy from the Student Advice Centres at Blackfriers and Garthdee). Your Matric number you will learn very quickly as you need to it to access your E-mails, the uni network, resources from the uni (off site and sometimes on site) and it needsto be included on your courseworks, exams etc. Matriculation is done online and you need your Matric number and the password that came with it to matriculate. The password you are sent is also the password for the VC, Student portal, E-mail etc. until you change it (which you are asked to do when you log in for the first time)
