New foundation degree course: Visitor Attraction & Resort Management

We’re really excited to introduce a new foundation degree in Visitor Attraction and Resort Management which the university is running in close collaboration with Alton Towers.

This course is 2 years full time, and includes 18 weeks of paid work at Alton Towers.

If you’re interested in a career in the leisure industry then this course is really good for you, as you’ll get paid practical work experience as well as being able to develop important skills at university. During your first year you’ll be employed in front-line roles at Alton Towers, and the intention is that you’ll be able to work at team leader level in year two.

This means you’ll be getting a good blend of practical work experience and classroom learning. You’ll gain a solid understanding of areas including:

Visitor attraction

Commercial and hotel operations management

Marketing and digital communications

Financial and human resources management

High quality customer service
