Physics part 5 help? forces

two boys of equal mass jump of the same ledge to the ground. one boy bends his legs on landing while the other keeps his rigid. explain the difference in the force the two feel on impact.

I think it might be to do with the fact the boy who bends his legs comes to rest over a longer period of time, so decelerates more slowly than the boy who keeps his legs rigid
F = ma
M can be ignored because it's the same
F = a
smaller acceleration means smaller force
