Just received a letter today inviting me to come along to an interview on the 1st feb
im basically just interested to find out what its like for anyone who has already had a interview at Queen Mary, how did it go ? whats it like ? is there a particular dress code ? etc
I had an interview for history in december, so I'm not sure if it will be the same sort of thing, but I had a taster seminar, which I found really useful as it gave me a chance to see what the staff were like, and also to mix with other prospective students. I also had a one on one interview, which was also useful as I was able to ask questions about the course etc, although quite a few of the things I had wanted to ask had been covered by an introduction thing earlier in the day.
I wore smart/casual clothes, but it was a mixture really, I'd say go whatever you feel most comfortable in! The interview is definately worth going to as you get a campus tour, and this really helped give me a feel for the atmosphere of QMUL, and you get a chance to talk to students already there. All the staff and students I met were really friendly, and I actually found myself quite enjoying the day...
Anyway this posts getting a bit rambly so good luck for your interview, and I hope my info helps
i had my interview today for English! it wasn't too bad. Most people were wearing smart/casual clothes. A few people in jeans. I went for the trousers/top with nice shoes look. I was very impressed with the uni! loved it
Had my interview today, i feel it went fairly well. They will probably ask you why you want to study the course, and stuff about your academic and non-academic interests. Does anyone know how long they take to reply after the interview?

Took them about 4 days to get back to me in December Good Luck-what course are you applying for?
the lady said..."you will hear from us very soon" I guess she means a couple of days well i hope it is worth the wait!
The lady was OK, i mean i could have had someone a little more jolly as i heard the other interviewers were really fun! She was just asking me about Shakespeare most of the time, and why is it better to see a production rather than read the play? Then she asked me what i thought of my last read book, my A2 English coursework. Its not too bad at all, just talk about whatever you want to really. Oh and the all important question, "Why English?"

Did you have your English interview on yesterday (17th) Might have seen you around.
i had an interview yesterday... it was a bit weird because the most he asked me about english was what book i'm reading right now.. the rest of the time he kept going on and on and on about their course and what it involves! Then he asked me where else i've applied, and the ending note was a discussion about celeb big brother
They cant do that can they ? What other unis you applied to shouldnt infuence their decision...or so i think
I wouldnt be bothered if they ask me that mind you, did they expect you to ask them anything ?
Alsooooooooo...Was the interview part of a open day where you got a tour etc
yeah i found it odd that they asked me where else i applied... but i also read somewhere else that another person got asked the same question, so i don't know what they are upto... mind you, when i told him he started explaining why i shouldn't go to those places :P and he did ask me whether i had any questions but i said no. After talking about big brother and other things unrelated to the main purpose of the interview, i stopped caring about it!
