Will my money come late?

I've been stalling with my student finance and I'm worried that the money won't come through in time. I just sent the digital application off earlier today, but I still have to mail "evidence" and my declaration form.

They've also said that it takes 6 weeks for it all to be processed, that's enough time right? I'm not going to be penniless going to uni in fall am I?

You will be fine. As long as you apply before early august so end of July, you would be ok and are bound to receive your money by later September when you supposed to receive it. Even if there is a problem, like insufficient evidence as long as you return everything first class recorded then the time you have is more than enough. Good luck. If it does not work, call them and hassle them over the phone. Lol

Ps. I'm still due to renew mine for the upcoming academic year. 😉

The "deadline" for new students starting this year, is the end of May. I believe it's the later date for continuing students.

Having said that, plenty of people submit applications after these dates and still get their money on time. If lots of people do that then it will affect the speed of processing. However new student will find uni halls very sympathetic to SF delays, so at least accommodation shouldn't be a major issue. Bear in mind that SF only release your money after you have enrolled at uni ( usually during Induction/Freshers Week. It's advisable to arrive with enough money to pay for food, transport and socialising for at least a couple of weeks when you first arrive. Three organisations are involved in the payment process (the uni tells SF you've enrolled, SF release your money to your bank, your bank sends it to your account). Delays can happen at any one or a combination of those points.

It's not really a "deadline" anyway - you can apply up to 9 months after the start of your academic year.
