Are Mini Fridges allowed in rooms in Warwick?

Hey anyone know, current students especially- are we allowed mini fridges in our self catering accommodation? If not is it easy enough to sneak one in lol

They are not allowed.

However, yes people do have them. Several people in my corridor do. Nobody seems to have noticed and if they have then they obviously do not care.

If you don't mind me asking, what halls are you staying in?

I've got to ask... why would you not be allowed a mini fridge?

I believe its something to do with using to much electricity- power surges etc... all very boring lol

Some people have them, it just depends as swallows said, on the cleaner. Can be quite handy, especially if theres a food thief in the kitchen.
yes it really depends on the cleaner my cleaner is just an ***hole. I was sick when i had freshers flu and i said no cleaning today and she just opens the door and wake me up at 9 and just cleans.... its so annoying!!>??!!!?

Random question but how often are our rooms cleaned? and what exactly do they do for us- hoover, polish etc? I dont really like the idea of having someone moving around my stuff, my Nan is bad enough!

My friend got fined for having one- all depends on your cleaners/wardens attitudes.

They change your bin something like 2-3 times a week or so, and they hoover/clean surfaces around every two weeks. They will not touch your stuff. If your room is messy, they simply wont clean it.

As for fridges, there are people with them but I dont think Warwick Accommodation like it. You cant have Kettles in your room either apparently.

Hmmmm... Realllllllllllly want a fridge and a kettle in my room, I'll be told toasters arent allowed next :frown: lol.
No offence to any people I may end up with but I get paranoid when it comes to people messing with my appliances which could mess up food which I would in turn eat! Yet to meet anyone as fussy about food as me unfortunately lol
Kettles and toasters are easy to hide.

I live in Rootes.

I guess it probably depends on the cleaner and also how annoyingly strict your warden is as well. Ours must have spotted them because nobody makes an effort to hide them in any way.

The kettle thing is true. When my electricity went off one morning I went down to report it and they accused me of either using a coffee maker or kettle because they are normally what causes that to happen so I must have had one in use. I didn't. I suspect it could have been my hairdryer because that has a super high wattage but it hasn't happened again.

Lots of people have kettles. Don't know anyone with a toaster though because the kitchen has a toaster.

Your kitchen should also have a kettle as well. If you're in one of the lucky ones, your appliances will be either completely brand new when you start, or just one year old (ie. they were new when 'we' got here).
