I need some ideas for my chemistry internal assessment (IA). The IA is suppose to be a 10 hour long; a design experiment. If anyone has an idea of what I could for 10 HOURS, please let me know.

Do you get to chose what you want to do it on? What area of chemistry do you like?

The options are open, so it could be on anything. I would like to do it on anything, but I find the topics: Rates of reaction/ Energetics/ Organic would be very good for an experiment 10-hour long.

Yeah you're right, those topics are probably the best for the IA.

Umm I haven't studies rates of reaction yet but I have done the other two!

For energetics you could do bond enthalpy?

For organic there are so many experiments that you could do!
- Reactions of alkenes : Addition reactions
- Reactions of alcohols : Primary or secondary

These are some ideas, let me know if they help or if you find something better

Thanks for the help.

I did look into the topics you gave me, and I came up with an experiment:

To find the relationship between the number of carbon atoms in an alcohol chain and its standard enthalpy change of combustions.

If you know any way that I could go about the experiment or make the title any better. Please let me know.
