hello everyone,
so can anyone give a a good explanation about primary and secondary cell wall. An if anyone has all the definitions for unit 4 since there are many. also does anyone know/ predict which experiment might come a long with any predicted questions.

as far as I know
primary cell wall: cellulose lignified, layers are in one direction which makes it flexible
secondary cell wall: layers are in all directions and angles making it stiffer and more rigid and this supports the plant

Primary cell wall contains cellulose microfibrils that are arranged at different angles, embedded in hemicellulose and pectin glue. No presence of lignin.
Secondary cell wall contains sheets of cellulose microfibrils that are arranged in the same direction that are also embedded in hemicelluloses and pectin glue (a type of polysaccharide). Lignin is present.
Examples include xylem vessels and schlerenchyma fibres are lignified which gives them a waterproof structure allowing xylem vessels to transport water, reducing water loss as well as providing support and strength for the fibres and vessels.
