Boyfriend has had an accident

My boyfriend has been involved in another accident at work, second time in the last few months. Now I didn't take my new phone with me to uni as I didn't want the risk of being mugged for it. I did consider texting him before I left then thought he will contact my old number that I still use if he needs me.

He didn't contact my old number, left a text on the new number which I read when I got home saying he had tried to ring and is at hospital. Now I am upset he has had another accident (stabbed his hand) but I know he will think he can shout at me on the phone for leaving the phone behind.

I personally don't want the phone (was a gift) as it will cost me £10 a month to run to get the offer each month being a student its not feasible and I don't text that much. He bought the phone so I can't say that to him :frown:

What can I say to him when he comes home later before he tries laying into me when it wasn't my fault he had the accident etc?

im confused.

It wasnt your fault you didnt realise that he will txt the new phone as you said "thought he will contact my old number that I still use if he needs me."
Just explain because it cost alot you didnt want the risk of it getting stolen?

You say that you left for phone at home for fear of losing it. On another note, your boyfriend sounds as if he doesn't care for you. I mean, if he doesn't understand such a simple matter then one has to wonder why you are in a relationship at all.

He gave you the phone. . . surely that means he would use that number?

In fairness, you have only yourself to blame that he couldn't get hold of you. Just call him and appologise profusely that you didn't have that phone with you. Do you not call him etc when you are at uni? He does sound like a bit of an ass.

Got it sorted, just said it was on charge. He was fine about it. I don't contact him when i am at uni as I have work to do and so does he. Have realised I must choose a number now if people need me in an emergency.
