don't worry i think we all thougt that- and that some of us still do! You just sort of get on with it because you have to! and workload varies significantly between subjects - which one? xx
I've been given an offer from oxford, feel totally undeserving. There's never really parties everyday? Really? Every day...? I'm hearing the opposite... like, life at Oxford will be work work work. I want my uni years to be fun, don't know if i'll be able to relax and enjoy myself at all if i choose oxford.
I'm pretty much the same as you- have an offer, and sometimes I'm excited about going there but other times I just get scared about workworkwork/not fitting in etc. But judging by what people are saying in here you can have a decent social life as well, and to be honest however scared I am, there's a bit of me which knows that if I DONT accept this then I'll just spend the rest of my life regretting it and wondering 'what if..?'.
i thought the same before comingto cambridge, and it's true the workload is heavy, but that doesn't phase anyone. It's still very much a typical uni experience- drinking, clubbing and general craziness. fromwhat i've head it's the same at oxford.
From what I can tell, the majority of my friends at other universities in the top 10-20 have a similar amount of work to me. Science students at other universities seem even to have more than I do (philosophy), but I guess that could be that I manage time more efficiently than they do. You'll learn to manage your time so that you can fit in time to go out etc.
