A2, to put it simply, will make you have suicidal tendencies. A million of grammar rules to learn, endless vocabulary lists because they do not have a set one, and unseens with immense difficulty (Livy, the one being set now, is a b*tch). On top of that, you have to learn 300 lines of a set text, Tacitus for prose now, with all the detail you can imagine - funnily enough, the irony of Tacitus has affected how ironical I am, to give you an example.
I've not done chemistry myself, but I'd urge you not to choose Latin unless you absolutely love the subject. I'm only taking Prose myself, but the work is ridiculous.
