Primark? Erm, good luck. :s-smilie:

Thanks, but why? Isn't it a good place to work?

I wouldn't say Primark, get paid v low!!

I'd try Marks and Spencer first! Good pay, and you can apply whenever there is a vacancy basically!

You either do an online quiz or phone quiz (phone quiz easier (as in questions pretty obvious answers but costs a lot!)

Click Here for the huge M&S thread, there's loads of info/advice on there!

Good luck for getting a job!

hmmm well i works in superdrug n the basic pay is 5.51 me thinks!!! basically you just need to go in and ask for an application form and then they'll tell you if they're lookin for staff and if there not they'll probably tell you the best time to come back. any other question just ask:smile:

i work at boots and get 5.82 an hour and will be getting a 20p pay rise soon!!! Boots is a cool place to work and they dont accept c.v's just fill out an application form- the interviews are very easy infact i wud say its hard to not get employed by them if they are looking!!!

The starting wage as long as ur over 18 is 5.65 and it goes up after 6 months than every year

i get extra cos its the boots in the trafford centre- so the shops in it pay extra (trafford centre wages apparently... dnt no why!!!)

I think its the same for airports and railway stations so try getting a job with a big, well-known company in one these kinds of places, ones that already pay well such as tesco and marks and sparks, my friend works at tesco metro in a station (near her house dnt no which one) and she got paid really well- cant remember how much but remember being impressed.

M and S also have little food places round and about i think theres one in lime street station or i might be confusing it with piccadilly st in manchester but i know that theres definately a boots in lime street - theres also lots of small little coffee shops which im sure pay well, speaking of coffee shops ...does any one know how much starbucks pay? and waterstones for that matter...

Oh and some advice....dnt work for primark.

M&S is great  Boots are evil, they didn't want employ me because when I was asked if I knew anyone who worked there I told the lady who interviewed me and she didn't like them.

That is true because I found out as my friend overheard a conversation, I couldn't complain as I'd get him sacked. :frown:

A friend of mine works in Primark. She does enjoy it but i dont think i would. Especially if you had to tidy the store all day long cos mad customers threw everything on the floor.
The pay is very low aswell, she gets £3.50

And Sparkle, next time lie! lol

The really annoying thing I found about working for Boots was the constant mantra you had to repeat to every customer: "Have you got an advantage card?". Totally did my head in and thought it'd be so much better if I just stuck a hat on my head saying: "Got an advantage card - give it to me NOW!!! Don't force me to ask you!!!!".

Apart from that it was a great place to work.
If you can get a job at m&s, do it!! It can be hard work at times but the pay is good and they give you enough training before you have to deal with customers unlike friggin Somerfield.
I used to work at Marks and Spencer until recently (I only left as they wanted me to carry on with 25 hours a week, plus a full time degree course!) The pay is good (6.06 an hour, no matter how old you are, so even better if you're 16!) although that might be London rate, I applied online and did the online vetting process before an interview which was basically just roleplay, was told I had the job there and then, and had 2 half days of training theory, then a full saturday of training, half on theory and half on shopfloor, so yes you are prepared!

I work at Superdrug. Paid £5.67 an hour and you just bring in a cv, no application form. It's an okay place to work. Pretty relaxed where I am and I recently got given a £10 voucher for having been there for more than 3 months which was nice. That said, you will get sick of asking people if they want top up and stamps haha! Basically just apply at all those places, see where offers and go with the best deal! Good luck!

I was wondering what the pay was at Craigdon Mountain Sports Was??? Any help please.
I'd basically suggest applying to any shops/cafes/restaurants/ etc that have job vacancies that you can do (due to the hours/days and such) and are within an hour from you. Most are online - go online to any shops/restaurants etc that are branches (i.e superdrugs), and it'll state whether they have online applications or paper ones. If you're applying online, it'll say how much the pay will be, and when applying online, it'll say like 'attach cover letter' if one is needed (usually it's optional from my experience). If you want to know about what it's like working in a certain store, there's a lot of threads, like "Working at Next' and 'The Boots Thread.' Read a bit there what it's like.
The title of your thread says "plus others, maybe" and I don't really think that you should be too picky lol, because getting jobs isn't the easiest thing for people at the moment.
Also, the best time to apply for Christmas Jobs are NOW! I know that Boots started advertising from August! There's a Christmas Jobs Thread sticky at the top of the forum - take a look.
Hope this helps.
