I am thinking about taking Government and Politics but I want to know what kind of things you study during the course and whether you like the subject and some advice.

GOVP1 and 2 are very boring imo, but at A2 you get to study the different ideologies in politics as well as America, which is much more interesting, whereas GOVP1 and 2 is more about British politics. Electoral systems, participation, pressure groups, parliament, the executive etc.

It is difficult, but no more difficult than subjects such as History, you have to have a good knowledge base, and then have the ability to apply that knowledge to the question.
