GCSE Maths questionnaire question help please?

Hi all,

Please look at the attachment. It is question 24 from the Edexcel GCSE Mathematics A Paper 1 (Non-Calculator) 1MA0/1H Wednesday 6 November 2013 paper. This thread is about part (b) of the question

My answer was:

"Vector ON = 1/3(a + 2b)
Vector ND = 1/3(b - a) + a + b
= 1/3b - 1/3a + a + b
= 4/3b + 2/3a
=2/3(a + 2b)"

(Instead of writing "Vector ON", for example, I would write ON with an arrow on top of it)

Instead, the mark scheme wanted this:

"Vector OD = "Vector OA + "Vector AC + "Vector CD
= a + b + b
= a + 2b

Vector OD = 3(1/3a + 2/3b)
= a + 2b

Vector OD = 3(Vector ON)"

Is my answer wrong? This was a three mark question and so what would I score in this?
