Yes, they are accurate. All they are doing is simple calculation from the data you put in.

You can work it out for yourself.

For a BTEC National Extended Diploma a unit that is 10 credits is: 70 points for a pass, 80 points for a merit and 90 points for a distinction.

A unit that is 20 credits is: 140 points for a pass, 160 points for a merit and 180 points for a distinction.

Point boundaries are:
1240-1299 = PPP
1300-1339 = MPP
1340-1379 = MMP
1380-1419 = MMM
1420-1459 = DMM
1460-1499 = DDM
1500-1529 = DDD
1530-1559 = DDD*
1560-1589 = DD*D*
1590 and above = D*D*D*
