Lol I don't exactly dislike them but they just remind me too much of my parents (and even they don't wear them that much nowadays). I wouldn't really recommend them to 18 year olds tbh lol.

But there's no disputing their quality and warmth so to each their own I spose...
It's a very "posh farmer" look.
loads of the wannabe pretty boys at school/college wear them, with their rock hard spikey hair lol. to me they scream chavvy or "farmer giles" but on the right person i guess they can look quite nice, and they are practical.

I think it's ridiculous when non-countryside people buy into these so-called trends trying to manufacture a kind of 'look'. It's like when people started wearing Hunter wellingtons. And come to think of it, it's like people who live in cities/suburbs driving shiny, spotless 4x4s which have blatantly never been taken 'off road' since they left the car show room.
Oh yes, it makes me laugh.
before I came to London, I lived in the countryside, and I used to see my parents' friends wearing them all the time... now I live here, it seems to be younger people! I guess they look good sometimes, but not if your granddad wears them too!

I have honestly never seen anybody under the age of 40 wearing one.

Just thought i'd bump this as I they are catching on in Liverpool right now, I'm a big fan myself, wanted to get one last year, but couldn't afford and I think I might plump for one now!

I love them. They're such good jackets as well, they last for ages.
They are pratical and they're one of the only hard wearing jackets that actually looks half decent. However, there's no point wearing it in the sodding town/city as you aren't exactly looking for hardwearing jackets, simply something that looks good. In that respect, there are many better looking jackets out there. I have a barbour jacket but I only wear it when i'm in the country, looks ridiculous prancing around london wearing one.

This is specifically the Liddlesdale Style, i'm referring to

Yeah saw loads of gangsters in london wearing them last year, they seem to have gone out of fasion already though lol.
My dad has one and he's 42. Enough said really! It's fine if you're middle aged and live in a semi-rural/rural area but it seems to me that some chavs have decided to adopt it as a trend- rediculous! My dad's gone mad because he had some nice Aquascutum stuff but chavs started wearing that too, haha.
Having said that my 20 yr old brother has just bought a Barbour coat (I was horrified) but then again he is a bit of a rah so it almost suits his image as a whole. But personally I would get one if a) you're middle aged or b) living in a rural area.
