I'm working a ski season at the moment - and i LOVE IT!!

To be honest...we're not doing that much work at all..its more like a long holiday with a bit of work!

I'm working in a hotel in Switzerland - waitressing..

I'm also a beginner skiier..but really enjoying it - the ski instructors have been teaching me well  now..if only there was more snow!!

hey,

my boyfriends on a gap year at the moment, been there for almost 2 months so far.

They all complain about how they get paid about 35p an hour, and they do work a lot. From 8-1 and then 6-10 (ish) so u get a few hours of skiing each day.

HOWEVER theres like no snow. it all practically disappeared until yesterday when there was some snow up the top.

anyway he really likes all the people and likes the skiing etc so generally he is actually enjoying it.

i think the skiing weighs out the work.

hes with ski plan!

There are loads of threads on ski seasons... I'm tempted to write the stuff I keep repeating to everyone into a sticky, but I'd need to make sure it'd actually get used before I write it.

Wasn't that rozevan's bf who was with ski plan?
Hi guys,

Im an advanced skiier and really looking at doing a season next year.

Ill be 18, its a gap year between 6th form and uni, does this limit my employment oppurtunities? on natives.co.uk, the majority of the jobs are for people over 21 etc.

Any ideas/experiences?

Have you looked at tops or total ski, i'm sure you can do those jobs being 18?
USE THE SEARCH BUTTON!!!!!

No offence, but the same questions about ski seasons get asked again and again on here, and I just end up repeating myself.

As an 18 year old, you can get a job as waitstaff, glass collector, chalet host, chalet assistant, nanny, chef or kitchen porter. If it says 21 and over, apply anyway, they're sometimes flexible.

I'm going to do a Ski Seasons post for the forum, as there are so many threads asking about it.

Go work in Canada - Whistler is the best ski resort in North America and is full of international employees, Aussies, Europeans, North Americans, 30ft of snow fell in NOv, and they're still getting snow, great atmosphere and bars. Very young crowd and only a couple hrs from Vancouver - best city in Canada
I was 18 when I got my job, I'm working as a chalet host in a 5* enhanced chalet by myself. If you're mature and responsible, you can get the job.
