Tocil accommodation

Hello, just a minor question: I was reading about accommodation and it said Tocil doesn't have sinks in its rooms. How do you brush your teeth then? Does the bathroom get packed at morning/night? Thanks

I'm not a first year or anything and haven't actually visited Tocil. I'm hoping to be at Warwick this autumn! Tocil apparently has no sink in the rooms apart from maybe in a disabled room? I don't imagine bathrooms would be too busy though. On average, it's something like 4 to a bathroom. Unless you spend hours brushing your teeth, I don't think it'll be much of an issue.

Tocil does, indeed, have no sinks in the rooms. It does, however, have plenty of bathrooms. I've been living here all year, and at no point have I ever had to wait to get into any of the facilities. People don't all get up/go to bed/whatever else at the same time.

I'm interested in staying at Tocil for my first year. Just wondering, since Tocil is open to first-years, final-years and postgrads, are the flats mixed (i.e. first year students living with final year students in the same flat, etc)?

Nope, I'm considering Tocil for my first year and they don't mix the different years. Can you imagine how horrible it would be to be the line fresher in a flat of postgrads and vice versa? So, no, everyone is kept separate and the division between postgrads, finalists and freshers is done by building. (Correct me, if I'm wrong...)

This is right, from what I know of the blocks that are currently mixed.

Hmm. Strange. I emailed Warwick Accommodation to ask them about this and the response I got was "Yes, first year students can be placed with final year or post graduate students in same flat." :/ I specifically asked about Tocil.

Really? I wonder if this is general to all accommodation that features more than one category of student, or just Tocil? Should we then specify in our about me statement that we don't want to be mixed with different kinds of student?

I suspected that the first guy who replied had given me the wrong information, so I emailed them again with a link to an old accommodation overview page that basically said that Tocil separates the different types of students by block. This time I got a response from a different guy saying that postgraduates and undergraduates will be separated. He didn't say anything about first years and final years being placed in separate flats, though.

It was separated when I lived there but the allocations do change year-on-year.

No problems with the sinks unless you're all on the same course, like we were, so all had the same lectures - then there's a queue

Lol no thanks then.

Any opinions on Cryfield? (It's my first option: Cheap and normal - didn't like whitefields because of the "houses" structure)

Hi,
I am postgraduate doing medicine starting this year but Tocil house is saying it is completely full. This was before I even received my grades too book.

Any suggestions of what to do? I am looking for private accommodation.

Also anyone starting postgrad med this September? Haven't found anyone yet or any group chats
