What accommodation do you guys think is the best if I would be mostly in the law building? btw I want an ensuite and a 39 week let- tia!

The only accommodation near the Law dept. is Rootes and Whitefields, neither of which are ensuite. Rootes is pretty good, however, and they have some pretty epic flat parties there. Whitefields is the worst on campus, and nicknamed 'Sh!tefields'.

However if you want good quality ensuite nearby, go for one of Heronbank, Lakeside, Jack Martin or Arthur Vick. Claycroft might be okay as well as there's a pretty straight line walk from there to Law.

Thanks for your response! I was thinking of either heronbank and lakeside but it seems like everyone complains about the distance to the SU and tesco- do you think its really that bad?

From that side of campus yes it will be a bit of trek to the Piazza and Tesco. On reflection, I'd say to for Jack Martin as it's the closest ensuite to campus and literally a five minute walk to the Law Department.

Moving out during easter sounds hectic but it may be worth it. btw I don't party or drink so I hope these halls would be alright :/

Scratch that I just saw the prices and they are too expensive for me so out of the other ensuites and ones that are less than £150 which do you think is the best and closest to the law building? So sorry btw!

To be honest all the ensuites are going to be very expensive, so it's probably best you go for shared bathrooms. The shared accommodation closest to Law building is Rootes, followed by Whitefields, followed by Cryfield, followed by Redfern.

Also, on a separate note, a word of warning: it is notoriously hard to make friends if you don't do just a bit of drinking/partying. I know people who didn't party at first and they were very lonely, and it was harder to make friends later on because groups had already become defined. You might want to consider trying it, but at the end of the day it's your choice. But when it comes to bonding during freshers' and the first term, pre-drinks, POP, Smack and Neon is where it's at i'm afraid :/

Jack Martin or Arthur Vick are the closest ensuite. Not too sure about how long the let is though.

I think it's Sherbourne, then Lakeside/Heronbank
How do people find Tocil and Claycroft??
What is better between Heronbank and Lakeside please? I will be picking between these two  They are both very close to each other so I understand distance will be the same. But in terms of rooms, noise, kitchens and other perks.

I don't know that much about Claycroft but I'm in Tocil and I really like it. It's an enclosed flat so is smaller and quieter, yet close enough to the party flats such as Roots if you want to have a laugh at one of your friends flat. It is also very close to central campus, about a 2 minute walk.

The shared bathroom is much better than I expected. At first I really wanted an ensuite and was disappointed when I got a shared bathroom. But I haven't had any problems, bathrooms are cleaned daily and are very well kept. Also everyone has a lot of kitchen storage space. Two cupboards, two fridge shelves and one freezer shelf, in contrast with Jack Martin you have to share a cupboard and fridge shelf as there is about 20 people to a kitchen. It's also the second closest to Tesco, behind Claycroft.
Hey! I'm doing Biomedical Sciences for 2017 Oct entry!Thinking of putting Cryfield down as it seems quite good, didn't want the crazy crazy party life of Rootes but also do want to socialise obviously haha! What's next best after Cryfield? I can't afford Jack Martin or Arthur Vick, can only really afford Cryfield/Rootes/Whitefields (but heard Whitefields is super bad), what's my best option do you think? They're all quite close to the same sorta area which is good, need it close to Gibbet Hall for life sciences :smile:I don't wanna be kept up all night either so anywhere other than Rootes, but not an awful place like Whitefields???? Thanks!!

Do not wait! Apply before it's too late! You changing your course wouldn't affect your Accomodation.

I finished my first year at Warwick and I lived in Cryfield. I can't tell you anything about Redfern because it was a postgraduate accomodation in 2015/6.

Just giving you the heads up that Rootes is the party Accomodation so it's ALWAYS going to be noisy and there are frequent fire alarms there. If that's OK with you then by all means apply there because ppl do have fun there.

Tocil doesn't have a sink in the bedroom I know other people including myself appreciated having sinks in their bedroom when living in shared bathroom Accomodation.

If you have any questions about Accomodation and Cryfield then please let me know. :-)

What did you put on your form that may have helped you to get into Cryfield? Really want it as my first choice!!

Haha you'll get it dw, in general Cryfield is one of the least desirable accommodations (no offence), put what you're like and you'll go where you are likely best suited.

Check their site  It depends if you are post or undergrad.
