is there anyone staying at JMs atm?

just have a few qs

1. are your rooms really that big? and are you really that close to the student union - and is that even necessary?

2. what;s hall food like?

3. do you guys get stable internet connection issues? ( for let's say playing online games / downloading from ftp sites? - it's not like everything gets blocked does it?

Depends on how good a cook you are.
1. As I am informed the rooms are really that big (15 sqm I suppose)
2. JM is a self catering hall as all the others are
3.MMORPG, Torrenting and P2P is forbidden in the halls

There's a massive guide in the Warwick Accommodation Thread which has been described as 'ridiculously detailed'. I've written a review of Jack Martin in the 'Halls' section of 'Where should I apply' (along with other users who have reviewed their own accommodation).

Last two points: every hall is self catered, internet in halls is poor to say the least, 2Mbps with contention ratio of 50:1, meaning at peak times (evenings and Sunday, particularly) the speed is at a snail's pace. Look at the Acceptable Use Policy of Resnet and see what's allowed and what's not. Mainly, P2P stuff is not allowed under the policy, however VOIP, like Skype is permitted.

i didnt think the JM rooms were thaat much bigger than cryfield tbh, they are a better shape but the bathroom takes up most of the extra space

If you live in Benefactors I think you're close enough to get wireless from Rootes Social. Perhaps some parts of Rootes.

Other than that you can't get additional broadband connections, etc. If you really want you could get mobile internet, but I'd check first what the signal is like in the area.

You have read the guide at the start of this thread right?

There's isn't an option. If you want to randomise yourself, tear up pieces of paper and draw out of a hat.

Surely you must have some idea about preference? Are you indifferent to the length of let? Whether you have an en suite or not? The location of the halls?

There are a group of people who are the indecisives and don't send off an application form off at all and end up living off campus, not even in university run accommodation.

See the Accommodation Thread for more details about accommodation. Regardless, as long as you apply before July 31 then your application will be considered fairly.
Does anyone know if the ensuite showers can fit two people??
