Ahhh, I got the email confirming my application. The choices are all white blanks.

That happen to other people too? Just checking it's nothing to be worried about.

:iiam:
Yeah, my choices were all blanks as well.

What patch of land and short-cut is this? As far as I know there are only a few signs around saying something like 'please keep noise levels to a minimum between 12 and 8am' but I am not sure where you mean...

Heronbank is slightly cheaper which (I think) is the only real factor separating the two.

Really? thats the only thing?.. hmm.. how sociable are the ppl there?

When you're paying over £4k a year for accommodation, an extra £80 a year isn't that significant tbh.

Heronbank doesn't have a phone in your room, and doesn't have final year undergrads. Those 3 differences are really all I can find.

hey! i am an international student and i have accepted last year an unconditional offer to study acc and finance at Warwick this year (deferred entry). i really like a 39 week because moving things around will be mess! so i am thinking of lakeside or heronbank but i cannot differentiate the two! any opinions? choosing arthur vick as second option (eventhough not 39 week) and third Tocil, will mean that if they do not offer me my first preference, then my 4th will be offered?!
thanks in advance!

Just as long as we don't get a single-sex area, eh?

Or one of us doesn't end up in a flat with the entire rugby team O_o sick joke on the part of the wardens...

I'm kind of hoping that if I mention my position in the personal statement none of these things will happen. Do you think that's about right?
Aww the rugby team are a lovely lot. Leave them be. And just avoid them when they're out and about getting pissed!

There have been cases where JM, Tocil, Rootes have been put at 1, 2 and 3 and then Rootes was offered as accommodation. It depends on luck (generally 'losing out' in the Heronbank draw, AV already being full and Tocil already being full).

ok,thanks! well i will go for heronbank instead of lakeside, i think is better. and then AV,Tocil, since there is no point for me to choose AV as 3rd or 4th preference! any of the other options do not really enthusiase me (actually do not have any idea of Cryfield,Whitefield, westwood etc..). Anw,hope to be one of the lucky and get my first preference!
thanks for the reply!

Well they allocated final year undergraduate accommodation in December - there have been 5 months since people have been applying to the waiting list so chances are slim. Why not email Warwick accommodation for their opinions? They would have better knowledge of how long the list is at the moment.

just got an email from them...they said theres 60 ppl on the waiting list...so im guessing the situation will become clearer once exam results come in or something?

Right, get on the waiting list anyway, but I'd say that you should keep searching for other accommodation in the time being. In other words you need 60 people to fail to get 40% or something.

The sooner you get on it, the fewer people who can get infront of you.

Not sure - I think it depends on department. Maths First and 4th years are in the last week of June. Not sure about 3rd (or most importantly 2nd years) though :p:

I'm thinking of the path which links the Cryfield Cottages with Heronbank.
When I went there, I thought the sign said it was out of bounds between those times, but I can't remember the exact wording, so the idea of a total ban could be a complete exaggeration! :woo:

The path from main campus? Yeah there is no ban, you are free to go pretty much wherever you like whenever you like so long as you don't make any noise doing so at night :p:

If you put Rootes as #1 then will you pretty much get it?

Yes.

Not necessarily. I know a whole bunch of people who put Rootes first and live somewhere else. One of my flatmates is a case in point.

However, if you don't put it then you won't get it, so it makes sense to put it as first choice.

I applied for Rootes, followed by Jack Martin.

 Why is it that insurancers had to apply?

Dunno exactly. A good number though.

He had it as unconditional firm or deferred entry...not sure which.
