The impression one gets is that everyone who stays there fails their degree, a) because it's too loud to work, b) because the old rootes facilities are so bad you die of starvation and c) you never get to sleep because the fire alarms go off all night.
I wouldn't be so distraught if I knew where in Rootes I was. Just new Rootes on a quiet floor, please God...
rofl im totally gonna piss you off haha lets hope you get A-I lol
Is A-I under the old Rootes? International house? Facing what the kind of view that someone has so kindly shown? @.@ i was expecting ducks and a lake @ heronbank rofl!
i want to know, if everyone have received their accomodation offer. as it seems that it just me that havent gotten any accomodation.
btw, im studying chemistry and i want to hear from my fellow chem people.
cheers.
I'm doing Chemistry too. I haven't heard anything about accomodation either, I'm getting a bit worried because Warwick was my insurance and it would be horrible, living off campus in the first year.
Has anyone got accomodation that had Warwick as their insurance?

A-H is Old Rootes, I is International House and J-P is New Rootes.
Half of the blocks of old and new Rootes are on the construction side. That view facing south of blocks E-H, I and M-P is that of the new residences being built this year, Bluebell View (or something).
When you applied there should have been a warning on the Rootes profile page about this construction work.

Old and New Rootes consist of two buildings each, they actually have names (eg Gibbet Hill House or something). But I can't really recall what they are exactly
Does anyone know if Jack Martin has a storage space? As in, a place I can put my stuff during holidays when I'm forced out?
Lockable cupboard in your room: needs a bigish padlock. When you get there you can see it needs to be the thickness of a pencil. Size - 130cmX50cmx80cm (estimated). If you don't lock it there's a chance that a conference member could open it and take what's inside. Trunk room - priority goes to international students. It's free though. Also it will be 'open' essentially meaning anyone could go in and steal stuff. So items are left at your own risk. Alternatives to that are to move your stuff to a friend's place. Over the summer, container storage is available, although only for int students (and you have to pay).
Vacation accommodation available at Cryfield. You need to book towards the end of term - price about £13 a night or so. Still cheaper than JM, but more expensive than the normal Cryfield rates.
