lol ok still not sure what A-I means! :eek3:

thanks anyway for your help!

Old Rootes + International House = A-H + I = A-I

Old Rooes has 8 block, International House is another block and New Rootes has 7 blocks. Each is given a letter
First Old Rootes building has blocks A, B, C and D
Second Old Rootes building has blocks E, F, G and H
International House is given the initial/block I
First New Rootes building has blocks J, K and L
Second New Rootes building has blocks M, N, O and P.

Blocks are generally separated by stairwells, however there are a few exceptions - some blocks may not all be on the same side. It may be the case that to get from room 8 of G block to room 9 of G block, you actually need to go up G block's stairs to the first floor, then walk along to H block and come down those stairs to get the other room. It's a bit confusing at times :p:

lol hey thanks for all the information TallOne!

so I'll just take it that A-I means they haven't comfirmed my block allocation yet between A to I hmmm.. so for the people who got A-H it means that they will be allocated between blocks A to H? :s-smilie:

That might be the reason for the lack of information :holmes:

Did you apply before July 31st?

Yep

A-H/A-I it's just parking directions. You can't be certain where you are living until you get your keys.

Lockable cupboard in your room: needs a bigish padlock. When you get there you can see it needs to be the thickness of a pencil. Size - 130cmX50cmx80cm (estimated). If you don't lock it there's a chance that a conference member could open it and take what's inside.
Trunk room - priority goes to international students. It's free though. Also it will be 'open' essentially meaning anyone could go in and steal stuff. So items are left at your own risk. Alternatives to that are to move your stuff to a friend's place.
Over the summer, container storage is available, although only for int students (and you have to pay).

Vacation accommodation available at Cryfield. You need to book towards the end of term - price about £13 a night or so. Still cheaper than JM, but more expensive than the normal Cryfield rates.

That's the useful link to keep an eye out for.

Thanks TallOne. By the way, where does one buy a giant padlock?

Anyone know why Warwick isn't participating in the 18+ Oyster scheme any more? :frown:

Okay, I got Rootes and it doesn't say whether I got A-I or J-P.
Anyone has any idea about this? :frown:

I didn't get an Email, I just checked the accommodation page and saw that I had been made an offer. So check the accom page.

Sorry where's the accom page? Do I have to log in somewhere?

If you haven't received an email now I'd say you are in Westwood or on the waiting list for on campus. The reason Westwood hasn't been given out yet is because the warden needs to group the people into shared and single rooms - and the contracts will differ because of that.

Still, try check the site at http://go.warwick.ac.uk/contractsWA

is it A-H or A-I, plz double check for me mine says A-I :s

So presumably that means you could be in Old Rootes or International House, while I'm definately stuck in Old Rootes.
Does anybody know if all of the JM kitchens have been refurbished?
I'd love the JM1 Kitchen! x

Can't find any information on it. There as a "Residential services five year major maintenance plan" mentioned two year ago, but I can't find the document.

It's possible.

Did you firm Warwick and apply before the 31st July?

Also did you put Westwood down anywhere as your choices?
And have you tried logging in via that link?
