Don't give up on TSR when you start uni...It is difficult not to forget this magical place though because of Facebook which is a life stealing monster.

You will have fun discovering that at least a few of the people you live with are also TSR users (just perhaps not Warwick sub forum users) In my first week wandering into peoples rooms the words 'ohmygosh you are on TSR, me too!' will no doubt be spoken.

I've had a "oh my god, I cant believe you are spark911, I used to read all your posts" from a girl in the same hall as me

You'd be suprised how quickly people stop using TSR when they get a uni :p:

Lol, that's good... more of an incentive for me to 'look out' for girls then... :p:

Yeah I still love TSR. Personally I procrastinate a LOT and facebook alone doesnt satisfy my needs.

One night during the first week I logged on to TSR and discovered a PM from a guy in my kitchen asking if it was actually me who lived with him..because he had seen me posting and put two and two together:p:

Computer Science and Business. It's either going to be that or Actuarial Science at Cass.
Just wondering what it means by "Single Sex areas"? Obviously I know this means areas just for the girls and same for boys but is this an option you can choose when applying or do you end up in a specific area according to your gender?

Quite a lot of the accommodation seems to have single sex areas, really hope that its not one floor full of girls and then another one just full of boys, don't want to be stuck with my own gender, girls can be pretty annoying, lol!

If you specify it on your application, you'll probably be put in one, otherwise I doubt it. Although there are kinda single sex areas, e.g. at westwood all the ground floors are male-only (apparently to stop pervs looking through windows, so I accused them of being sexist cos guys could be perved on by girls too... that shut them up :p:).

Cheeky! Although it is a fair comment :p:

So when it says there are "Single Sex Areas" this means that it is a mixed hall but if you wish you can choose to be put amongst just girls or boys?

I imagine the smaller accommodation, that are just 'flats' of say up to 14 people could be fully single sex if people put they wanted it on their application.

But for Halls, it'll be mixed, but perhaps one floor (usually bottom) will be Male only! It's not issue though, our hall mixes on all floors.
really there are single sex areas in campus? I never knew that but mostly it wll be mixed so dont worry too much

Probably a silly question, but when the accommodation applications come out, do you have to write a little description about what you are like, such as "I'm a social person etc"?
Reply 294
and when are the forms coming out? someone at school said they've already filled their accommodation application form out
Reply 295
they were lying. I don't think application begins for ages yet.

Yes there's a little 'about me' section. Where you do the "I never sleep, play guitar and/or stereo very loud all the time, am an alcoholic and love to party" if you apply to rootes, and "i like woods which are to the west" if you wanna get put in the 'dumbass' pile.

where do you reckon I will get put if I do the "I'm a very social person, love to go out a lot, but also like calm nights in"?
Reply 297
But I really want to emphasize the SOCIAL part as I don't want to get stuck somewhere anti-social

Whitefields? Close enough t'union to satisfy that, but have the option of staying quite self-contained.

Or westwood! WoooO! Where parties happen all the time!
(because we have no choice... who want to walk all the way to campus :p:)

What do you think about Jack Martin? I reckon you're in Westwoods then...
