Oh dear, I really really really really really really really really want to get Jack Martin. However, sooooo many people seem to have that as their first choice I want somewhere really social but am seriously one of those people who finds public bathrooms quite off-putting and I like to spend hours in the bath at anyone time so I know I'd just annoy people by hogging the bathroom too much! Westwood really does appeal to me because of the size of the rooms but my mother doesn't want me to apply there at all because of the distance, and she worries about safety with the walk home in the evenings etc. New Rootes appeals to me but I take it you don't get a choice as to whether you get New Rootes or Old Rootes and it annoys me I may end up somewhere in poorer condition than people paying the same amount! Whitefields is also one of my favourites but seriously when I visited they look SO SMALL! How do they fit all the bedrooms in or are they seriously tiny??
You know, I might apply to Westwood. The walk sounds about the same as my walk to colleg from home now anyway, and half the distance of my walk to work/town/bars etc. And I daresay I'll need the walk just so I can say I'm getting a bit of exercise!
The walk doesnt bother me at all, before I passed my driving test I had a half hour walk to school but for some reason my mother is interfering and doesnt want me to be 'out of the way' (as far as you can be 'out of the way' in Warwick anyhow). I really like the idea of getting involved in Westwood Ents next year too but at the end of the day my mam's paying so I think I'm beat on this one!

Yeah, well, it's really not out of the way, so you could carry on arguing
time to start making your own decisions then maybe?
If the money was coming out of a loan or something then I'd be going where the hell I liked, but unfortunately my mother has to pay so somethings got to give. I can go wherever I like as long as it isnt Westwood but I take it you can be put there even if you don't put it on your form? Maybe I'll be lucky.
I don't think that what you put on your form matters that much in terms of accomodation. I think they do use it to match you up well with the people you live with though as I live with some people who are quite similar to me. I got Rootes with an about me section saying that I wasn't a big fan of going out and really enjoyed nights in reading or watching dvds and that I loved baking and doing craft. Rootes wasn't my first choice either.

What was your first choice? And I got the impression that Rootes was the most partyish accommodation of them all
Also, can i point out that the university puts on a shuttle bus that goes from main campus to westwood and lakeside, designed for girls who would have to walk back. Its regular every night. Really useful! I used it once pretending to be a single vulnerable female, think I got away with it

You have no idea quite how big my smile was when I read that. Good work. If you want to get involved next year, never fear, as you don't have to be at Westwood to be in W.E. now! So you're serious about it, let me know and we can have a chat about what you'd like to do.
Hey Sparky, I think you and I have managed to change the traditional image of Westwoods single-handedly! Go us! First time ever I've seen people wanting/I] to apply to Westwood! And rightly so!
Halls are what you make of it guys, and what W.E. have tried to do is instill a sense of community at westwood. It has enough to be a village of its own, if people are dedicated enough, which is really cool! So far half the halls are in on the community thing... can't really say the same for the other side (Bericote, Compton, Dunsmere, Emscote - except for Hazel who's on the W.E. committee).

And I put Rootes first choice and said I love partying and being social and got put in Westwood. Stupid idiots, can't get it right can they?! I should have got your spot! Still, I'm glad of it now, I would never have started Westwood Ents otherwise.
