So have we all ordered accommodation hoodies yet? :awesome:

I'm hoping they'll have samples on display in the shop-thing when we get there because I'd like to see quite how macho the 'green military' one is first ...

I think it's nice that there're a Paradise Place and Liberty Park hoodies, because I thought I was going to miss out on that not being on campus.

I'm going to order it soon.

That is quite good-natured of them ...

Well, relatively good, considering the circumstances!

It'd be cool to have a hoodie with 'Liberty' on it though

Are you kidding me???

What about the people who just live in a house in Coventry all alone on a street by ourselves...

Are you kidding? I thought last years were pretty awful!
i got this email from the accomdation office today saying

'Thank you for recently supplying medical documentation in support of your request for ensuite campus accommodation. The report you have provided has been assessed by the University’s Occupational Health team and I am pleased to inform you that they are able to support your request to be prioritised for en-suite accommodation on the campus.

We have added you to our medical waiting list for ensuite accommodation, but please note that at present we cannot provide any guarantee that a sufficient number of ensuite rooms will become available for us to be able to change our offer of accommodation to you before the start of term. Until an ensuite room becomes available, the original offer of standard accommodation that we have made to you will remain in place, and I would advise you to accept this offer in the mean-time to ensure that you will be able to move onto the campus for the start of your course.

We will contact you again at this email address once we are able to provide you with further information regarding the ensuite accommodation that we can offer you.'

atm i av roots.
so i was jst wondering wen it would be likely for be to change accom. and should i not pay my first instalment, coz it probably jst confuse things.

Either before the start of term, or if not, then first few days of term - ring them up if you want to find out exactly what the current situation is/what you should do when you get there. My friend was in a similar situation (sent in medical evidence after being given inappropriate accomodation), then she got the same email as you about a week ago, then on Monday she got given an offer for her first choice.

Couple of things:
There are a few (literally a handful of) en suites in Rootes.
Failing that if any en suite rooms are vacated (say in JM/AV/HB/LS) then you will be priority to replace them, rather than the Westwood sharers.

As for paying - I suggest you pay now. The payment is done in installments so they can easily adjust the amounts if things change. If you don't pay then you will be in debt to the uni and personally I think that is worse than paying installment one now and causing a bit more work for the person in charge of drawing up the new contract.

How strict is Warwick accommodation? This may be a silly question, but if I want to stay some (or most) nights over at my bf's place, will anyone notice/mind?

Not entirely sure what you mean, but if you mean coming to visit him in his halls, 99% of the time wont be a problem, unless hes got a terrible resident tutor that cares about that kind of stuff. Assume it'll be fine.

No no, I mean if I live in on-campus housing and he lives in off-campus housing, will me being gone be a problem?

No not in the slightest, you're paying for the room but you don't have to be there - this isn't boarding school or something!?

ok phewwww
I wouldn't know, I come from a family of extremely overprotective parents who wouldn't let me go to boarding school when and I asked, and who don't approve of my bf cause they're racist and thus I can't move in with him officially. But looks like problem solved
Asked this on the freshers thread too, but realised this may be a more appropriate place to ask!

How do we find out what actual room we've been allotted? My accommodation offer simply says "Westwood" and nothing else. Is it when we enrol? (Problems with enrolling so haven't done it yet)
how's the turnover rate of campus accomodation at the beginning of the term?

I think it's on the day you go and get your key, you don't find out beforehand.
But I'm probably the wrong person to ask LOL.

As far as I know, for on-campus accommodation, this is correct.
