Hey, so i have a conditional from Warwick and was looking at the accomodation section of their website. Am i right in saying that non of the on-campus accommodation areas support students for all 3/4 years of their undergraduate course?
Thank you

Yes. Generally, you live on campus for your first year. In the final year there's a ballot to choose people to get a place on campus. Otherwise, you have to live off-campus.

So year 1-3 is on on campus, and the last is most likely off-campus?
Or could you choose off-campus for the whole duration?

Year 1 you're guaranteed on-campus (unless they run out of rooms which sometimes happens, or if you don't put Warwick as your firm choice on UCAS, in which case you may or may not get on-campus) and in your final year you can apply for on-campus and you'll get it if you're lucky.

For the 2nd year (and 3rd year if it's a 4 year course) you have to live off-campus.

It is also possible to live off campus for the whole time if you want, but generally it's better to live on campus.

i dont know id say its better to live on campus first year as its easier to get to know people but after that some people including me prefer to live off campus  i just found that being a campus based uni warwick was as it is often described a 'bubble' and it was nice to get away from it after working there in the day
on-campus then off-campus then maybe on-campus.
Okay, thank you, appreciate the help!
So I woke up this morning to find a sticky note attached to my computer from my sister who has an offer from Warwick but is trying to decide whether to firm it or another uni - she'd left me a question to ask on her behalf seeing as time's getting short for uni decision etc. and she's got school today.

Soooo the question is:

Although Warwick accommodation is all self catered, do they have any kind of policy or scheme through which you pay extra and then you get free or cheaper meals?

It's purely self catered - the cheapest food you could probably get (if your sister has no cooking skill whatsoever) is probably ready meals from Tesco and the like.

As for food available on campus, there is an Eating at Warwick card which gives you 10% discount on all food and drink purchases from the outlets on campus, other than Costcutter.
Just applied for mine:
Course: Maths
Preferences: 1-Rootes, 2-Tocil, 3-Jack Martin, 4-Whitefields, 5-Cryfield
Comments (how desperate are you for first preference!): Quite keen on Rootes - it's 39 weeks and cheap. I just put tocil and jack martin as 2nd and 3rd because they seem to be oversubscribed so maybe increases my chances of Rootes?

Does anybody know when accommodation application process finish? Do I have better chances for getting accommodation if I apply earlier?

You need to apply by 31 July. You could apply later if you really wanted to but you'd end up at the bottom of the list and they may have run out of rooms on campus.

As long as you apply before 31 July, there's no advantages to applying earlier.

The bathrooms in Tocil I saw were big, the size of a regular room pretty much, but with a toilet and a shower in too. I thought most Tocil flats were 6 though, my friends certainly is.

In each block there is one 6 room (top floor, apparently), one 9 room (ground floor, shared with a tutor's flat) and four 12 rooms, according to Cosmo_aus_Muenchen in the review of Tocil in The Warwick Accommodation Thread (at the start of this thread!)

Hey guys, I have a question.

How popular is Tocil in terms of preferences? Is it over-subscribed?

Secondly, the rooms in Tocil don't have washbasins, how inconvenient is that?

Thirdly, how noisy is Tocil?

For the second two questions, check out the guide at the start of the thread, particularly the hall review (there are photos as well) while you can view what preferences everyone on TSR put down last year (and also what those on TSR have put this year) on this thread,
I was told that the accomdation procedure would be starting in may but I haven't recieved anything yet

Has anyone recieved an email yet?
