Well I read earlier that the priority of applications would not be affected as long as they're received by the end of July; so I knew I wasn't going to bother until...well now . I'm just deciding my 4th, 5th, and 6th preferences now (is it worth wasting time on this?). Anyway thanks a lot - you've been a great deal of help over the months TheTallOne .

It might matter as some people do get these preferences (perhaps if you go for en suites in the first 3 preferences or put popular halls)

Hello I was just wondering if anyone had an idea of my chances of getting nto one of my preferred halls? I only ask as I have put warwick as my insurance - I put Bluebell first and JM second.... Is it really unlikely do you think as I know they obviously prioritise firmers first...??

Anyone?

I hope you applied yesterday - if you had applied today then you'll have missed the deadline and in that case, you shouldn't get your hopes up.

But if you did apply yesterday then you might have a chance getting into Bluebell - quite a few people have been put off it due to its price. But Jack Martin is quite popular so it's unlikely you'll get it.

In our year of entry I think some people who applied after the deadline still got Westwood sharing, possibly a handful got into the 'on campus' group. But applying today is much better than applying after results day.

Erm i applied like a month ago, so thanks for the warning but I am pretty good at keeping up on stuff.... But thanks for the heads up!
Hey Tall Person

Any reason Warwick leaves all accommodation offers until after results day, unlike some unis giving unconditional offer holders their accommodation first? Not saying I'd prefer it that way just wondering!

Not completely sure, I know some unis who have already allocated their main accommodation by June. Perhaps it is to make sure they have as many people with confirmed places as possible and give everyone who gets an offer a fair chance of getting the hall they want, regardless of when their offer was given.

Any news on Bluebell? Will it be completed in time?

What happens next? Like, when we are told which accommodation we get do we have to do anything? Like say it's good and stuff because I might be going on holiday in Septembe :O

Unless it snows or floods in the next two months then I expect so.

When I applied, I was made the accommodation offer on 8 september (by email), and I had to accept (i.e. sign the contract online) or reject the offer by 20 september. These dates will probably change a bit this year, but it should give you an idea of the time frames involved.

I would suggest that, no matter when you go on holiday, you check your emails regularly because you'll probably get other important emails as well.

Hi, I'm coming to Warwick this year (already got my results cos I did IB ). Just wondering about things to start buying for uni particularly bed linen etc. I know we won't hear which accommodation we are allocated til September, but do most people bring their own duvets, and bed linen etc? I was thinking it might save on trips to the laundry room () if I bring my own duvet but have uni provide sheets and duvet covers etc....do they do that at Warwick and if so, is it ok stuff? thanks

If you live in halls, the uni provides all the bedding (duvet, sheets, mattress protector, pillows etc) required for you. However, the duvet cover is a boring shade of blue so what many people do is they bring their own duvet cover to personalise their rooms a bit.

Bringing your own bedding probably won't make much difference to how often you need to wash things. You'll still be expected to wash all the sheets yourself regardless of which ones you use.

The duvet and pillow I got in my first year were both really lumpy and kind of gross, haha. I just bundled up all the bedding they gave me and kept it under the bed the whole year and used my own stuff instead. I'm going to do the same this year too. We have to do our own washing regardless...

Hey all could really do with some advice here!
Basically, I got an email today from accomodation office "reminding" me that I have to accept my off-campus offer by mon 15th aug (Im a postgrad btw). Problem is, I never got an offer email in the first place!

Does anyone have the link to the website where you can sign in to view/accept offers?

Has this ever happened to anyone here before?

In any event will get onto the accom people on monday morning but would at least like to know where Ive been offered.

Would really appreciate any advice!

Thanks for the above and to ttoby who replied too. I would only have used the uni sheets if they washed them ....so , as they don't I'll get my own. But before I buy, can anyone tell me if all beds in halls are single....don't want to buy it all and find i've been allocated a double bed...or vice versa....thanks

All beds are single beds, but I always suspected that they are of slightly odd dimensions - bit too narrow? Either way, single fitted sheets work fine.

Yeah, they are all single beds on campus. (Apart from a tiny number of PG/family accom but that is it.)

So you will have no issues if you buy single bedding.
