Well there's Redfern which is basically Hurst with minor differences.
Personally I love Claycroft - was there in first year.
Eh? Isn't Claycroft final years and postgrads only. Or was it undergrads before and then switched like Heronbank?
Though that being said, Claycroft and Heronbank would be decent in a couple of years time, Hurst and Redfern look like loony bins, as does Cryfield tbh.

It was first years as well a couple of years ago. Think they tried an experiment thanks to the ridiculous number of new undergrads. They switched it back to finalists and PG though after the one year...clearly decided it was too nice a place to continue to let freshers live there.
My experience of Redfern isn't of it being a loony bin...however the walls are very thin and that does become bloody annoying very quickly I have been discovering.

Well I applied for Tocil as my first choice, followed by Redfern, then Claycroft and Lakeside. What was your experience with who you were placed with based on your self description?
Redfern Tocil Claycroft I left the fourth choice blank, as I can't afford Lakeside or Claycroft to be honest. But had to put a third choice, so I'm hoping I'll get one of my first two choices!

How come hurst isn't available for 2012/13?
Argh not looking forward to this...have to ask my friends if they want to go with me...they might not want to go with me...they might decide to form an all-girls group or something...etc etc

Just ask! If they say no then it's okay because you don't have to live with them next year and won't have to awkwardly look them in the eye! Chances are they'll probably say yes
90% of my friends will have graduated when I come back from my year abroad, so applied as a lonely individual haha.

Yeah thats what I'm going to do. Unfortunately the last two times I went through this process they couldn't go with me for various reasons so I'm trying not to get my hopes up

Wait, I thought you had to put four choices? I'd better not get Lakeside!

Can't say. I was placed as part of a group....no randoms.
Thanks =D. I can't decide between Bluebell or Rootes as I really like the sound of the 'eventfulness' of Rootes.
I'd avoid Bluebell, it seems very expensive. There's also Jack Martin and Arthur Vick which are nicer than Rootes, not too quiet and a lot cheaper than Bluebell.
Could you guys take a video of Bluebell and post the youtube link of it here please. Cant find any info or pictures of it on the web. thanks
Got photos, will upload in a sec.
Actually took them in September but been too lazy to upload
In short: Bluebell has double beds, wifi in the kitchens, internal laundrette, separate card entry. To get into your room, you need to scan your card through 4 different doors - the main doors, the entrance to the stairwell, the entrance to the flat and then your room. Someone else should be able to do a better review though
Not to be outdone with last year's photo sesh of Rootes, this year I was in New Rootes block M for a week, and I have a further 19 photos for you to gloss over. It's also be updated in the start of this thread. Sadly the wiki keeps breaking everytime I upload 2 photos in quick succession so I'll eventually get them on the wiki section.
