.
I've never had to wait at all (this was in Westwood) since in the very unlikely event that all of the showers or toilets were in use, you could just use the facilities on the floor below. It would vary between halls as to whether you can do this though, since some halls have the individual flats separated by locked doors.

Got an offer to study PAIS and was just wondering how current students cope with not having an en suite? In terms of waiting for showers in the morning and what not

Only had to wait for a shower once. And that was simply because the shower that was free I don't like using - I was just being fussy. En suites are not in any way necessary.

It doesn't. Was just wondering because having a look at accommodation and people seem to say Rootes is the best fun. That's 6 people to one bathroom though....

Just a quick comment: I currently live in Rootes and my section of the corridor has eight rooms and two bathrooms - so we share one bathroom between four people. I've literally never had to wait or had a problem so honestly don't let sharing put you off!
When do we have to apply for accomodation?

Thanks
Any double rooms in postgraduate houses with space for a large desk?

I read in a thread from about two years ago that there was no wifi in the accommodation blocks. Is that still the case or has it changed?

This is still the case (you have an ethernet port in your room instead). I've heard they are thinking of changing it to wifi in the future though.

Hi thanks for the reply  Hmm probably asking about the conditions of the room/building and all? Are the facilities still in fairly good working condition cause I've heard that some of them breakdown quite easily. :frown: Was your stay there good?

yea it was all fine. no problems whatsoever with my room and none of my friends had problems that i know of, if they did they were sorted really quickly.

kitchens were ok, we had two on our floor. one was brand new and the other was pretty old, no problems with the new one, i was in the old one and our toaster was awful, but we complained and they gave us a new one, and the oven door didnt seal very well so you had to cook for longer or at a higher temp. this was 2 years ago now though so i would expect that kitchen has been refurbished by now, they were doing them when i was there and i think ours was one of the last to be done. other than that no problems whatsoever. I loved living in cryfield, i was so sad when i had to move out for good!
