I'm pretty sure if we call the accommodation team (http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/accommodation/contact/) or email them and explain our situation that we would both be happier with the other persons room and give them our student numbers it shouldnt be much of a problem? why would they want unhappy students?

You are allowed to swap - I read it somewhere in the accomodation booklets, but it's 'subject to approval and a £35 administration charge'

Just watched it and yeah it doesn't look far and I'm used to walking everywhere so I don't mind  Random question but are you getting tickets to freshers events in advance or are you waiting until we're there?

Wait til we're there I think. Don't want to end up with tickets to events I don't end up going to if you see what i mean?
What about you?

I stayed at Westwood last year. In the room, we were given 1 pillow with fitted cover, 1 mattress with fitted cover, 1 thin duvet with fitted cover AND a thin blanket and those were enough to keep me warm during the winter.

Silly question, but i presume all the beds are standard single size?
thanks
How many people from Westwood have got a freshers passport!!? Got mine!

All except Bluebell, theirs are small double I think.

so where you from??

I am

same here!
If anybody is unhappy with a room in bluebell, I'm also willing to swap as I have been allocated a room in westwood. I'm not particularly sociable so would have preferred a room with ensuite so that I can keep to myself etc. I'm pretty sure I could pay whoever the difference.

Aah dammit.

So now that I've discovered you cannot swap accommodation until week three, I'm really upset. I've ended up with Bluebell which I never wanted originally, but stupidly put it on my list?

It's the price, and also the lack of numbers which worries me. I'm afraid that the people there might not be open to being social as much as being somewhere else. Just feel kinda sad at the moment.

Well, as a future Rootes resident, you are always welcome to come party with me/us

When moving in, the Warwick website says people with names A-L pick up keys etc on the 29th... and people with names M-Z pick up keys etc on the 30th... My surname begins with S, does this mean I HAVE to go on the 30th, or can I pick keys etc up on the 29th?

You're supposed to pick up your keys on the 30th, but if you do show up on the 29th and plead ignorance, you would almost certainly get away with it. If you email accommodation and tell them it's not possible for you to be dropped off on the 30th, they might tell you to come on the 29th instead.

If you're worried that you'll miss out by arriving a day later than some people, I wouldn't be too concerned - it makes absolutely no difference in the long run. The only downside to arriving on the Sunday is that you miss the Saturday Welcome Party, but there's another one on Sunday night.

I'm undecided although it seems like quite a few people on the facebook group have got the passports! I think I'll probably end up waiting but get the paint party ticket in advance because apparently it sells out really quickly!

I really need to go on the 29th, cos my dad can't make it on the 30th... So I would need to email Warwick accommodation I guess... What's the email address?

Was your accommodation specified as Old Rootes? I just got Rootes, I assumed it could mean either one.
