Was you accommodation specified as Old Rootes? I just got Rootes, I assumed it could mean either one.

If you click on the 'inventory' section of your accommodation contract, it specifies whether you're in blocks 'A-I' or 'J-M' (I think it's M, but it doesn't matter). The latter is New Rootes, the former Old (or so we've been led to believe)

Damn, it appears that I will reside in A-I, (filename A-H ?). It matters not!

I put down on my application that I wanted to live somewhere quiet and got Rootes, really worried about how noisy it will be. Anyone have an idea if its as bad as the thread makes out?

When moving in, the Warwick website says people with names A-L pick up keys etc on the 29th... and people with names M-Z pick up keys etc on the 30th... My surname begins with S, does this mean I HAVE to go on the 30th, or can I pick keys etc up on the 29th?

As above, you can go on any of the two days. I'd suggest go on the Saturday regardless. You don't need to email them either as the accommodation tents have all the keys.

I'm undecided although it seems like quite a few people on the facebook group have got the passports! I think I'll probably end up waiting but get the paint party ticket in advance because apparently it sells out really quickly!

There were fewer than 150 Passports remaining yesterday and they will sell out well in advance of term. If you are wanting to go to specific events, I'd suggest you by the individual tickets too, though I'm not sure how quickly they sell out.
The passports have sold out!

You can still go to the events but you would have to buy tickets for them all individually. If you go to a lot of events then this may mean paying a bit more overall.

It just means you have to buy the tickets for all the events separately. This may end up more expensive overall and the tickets may sell out if you don't buy fast.

I was just looking on my accommodation's facebook page and someone said that rooms are allocated on a first come, first serve basis which doesn't make a lot of sense to me because I was told on the open day that they organise corridors/flats so that there's a gender balance, a good balance of home/international students and a range of courses! Just wondering if anyone knows whether that's true because it seems a little strange!

No, they aren't based first come first serve.... It is mostly based upon the statement you enter when applying and your choice selections, and then the rest pulled out a hat. If you apply last you are just as likely to get your first choice as applying first.

Does anyone know anything about Bluebell?? Is there storage space under the beds? Anything other than a wardrobe for storage? How many wall sockets? Wifi?? Thanks people  x
In New Rootes. (J-P)

Anyone wanting Rootes and currently with a 39 week en suite (eg. Bluebell, Sherbourne)... pm me to talk about swapping.

Sigh.

I stayed at Westwood last year. In the room, we were given 1 pillow with fitted cover, 1 mattress with fitted cover, 1 thin duvet with fitted cover AND a thin blanket and those were enough to keep me warm during the winter.

Sounds like a silly question, but how comfy are the beds?

Anyone want to swap Cryfield for Rootes?

I sincerely hope I imagined it...but I could swear I read somewhere that rooms are allocated on a first come/first serve basis when you go for key collection, and not decided beforehand like I originally thought.

Please tell me this isn't true!?!?!?
