Currently filling the online application form and I noticed there are only 8 possible on-campus options even though there should be 12 different ones, atleast according to this page:
http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/services/accommodation/studentaccommodation/all/campus/residences/

"From 2013/2014 we will have 12 halls of residence."

The missing ones are Tocil, Lakeside, Redfern and Claycroft. Any idea why I cant pick any one those four?

Some of the halls are only available to final year students or postgraduates.

Yeah good point, my mistake  Sucks because now I only have Rootes and Westwood I'd like to live, need to think of three more. Between Bluebell, Heronbank or Sherbourne, which would you guys say is the most "loudest" hall? In terms of people going out, partying and overall socialising. I'd really like to have a room for 39 weeks instead of 30 and I am planning on putting Bluebell, Heronbank or Sherbourne as third, and Jack Martin as fourth option.

Can someone help me please?

I have Warwick down as my insurance. I was fairly confident in achieving my firm so I did not think about Warwick accomodation for a second. After my first exam today, there is a chance that I will not meet my firm choice.

So, I must ask; for people who have Warwick as an INSURANCE choice, do we still need to apply for accomodation? If so, would me doing it a week from now put me at a big disadvantage than today? I would rather deal with it after my exams.

As far as I'm aware, you apply now. It doesn't make any difference as long as you apply before the 31st July. The only difference is that as Warwick is your insurance, you will be lower down on the priority list for getting accommodation.

So you're saying that no decisions are made before the 31st of July? Thanks!
It looks like I'll have to do some research in a weeks time and file in an application.

Yes, you should always apply for accommodation at your insurance choice as well. If you end up not going to Warwick then they would just cancel your application.

Applications are currently in the phase where as long as you apply by the deadline then the time of your application will make no difference. Someone said above that this deadline is 31 July so that would leave you free to concentrate on your exams for now. Good luck with your remaining exams!

Good to hear, thanks very much!
I'm stuck between Rootes or Jack Martin as my first choice.

The thing that I like from what I've read about Rootes is that it's very sociable and that's the kind of thing I'm looking for as I like a good party and want to be around fun people ! Having said that from what i've read Jack Martin doesn't seem to be far off in terms of social atmosphere.

The only thing that's pushing me towards Jack Martin is that they have en-suite. Are the bathrooms in rootes nice ? Like are they kept clean or because they're shared they get dirty ? How good are the cleaners ?

Also Jack Martin's kitchens look so much nicer, I'm not a clean freak but i do like clean and tidy. Do the kitchens in rootes get really messy easily because more people are sharing them ?

Kitchens: the reality is kitchens in ALL accommodation choices will get messy. That depends entirely on your flatmates...and most students tend towards messy, certainly in first year. This year at least one JM kitchen was threatened with all kinds of bills for replacing things and cleaning things. I'm sure a similar thing happened in other accommodation too. It's kind of something you need to learn to deal with. Cleaners do come in and sort it out though, unless it is too messy in which case they refuse to do it and then fines are incurred.

The bathrooms in Rootes are fine and cleaned pretty often I believe. You don't need to stress about sharing a bathroom - it will work out just fine.

Rootes is gonna be awesome I can't wait!
For the rootes option on the application it's coming up as: Rootes (Shared- 39 weeks)

What does the shared part mean ? I thought all rooms were single rooms ?

Nearly finished applying! So so excited
I'm going to be staying in Cryfield over the summer, does anyone have any experiences of it? My house mate stayed there last summer and said it was boring and horrible :/
