I'm going to be staying in Cryfield over the summer, does anyone have any experiences of it? My house mate stayed there last summer and said it was boring and horrible :/

I've only been in there once, it's not particularly nice inside - exposed breezeblock, narrow corridors and incredibly dated kitchens!

What are you doing over summer? If you're busy all day and not spending too much time in there I suppose you should be alright.

Ahh fair enough. Yeah I'm not really expecting first class accommodation, but I'll probably up having late night convos and playing loud music, are the walls thin there? My house mate said she struggled meeting people, that no one talked back to her and even in the kitchen no one said anything. I can't be living like that. I've got an internship on the URSS scheme for the summer

The walls are thin in there, and apparently you can hear through them, at least I've hard that from others. As for meeting other people... I'd expect that just depends on who you happen to be sharing a kitchen with at the time, regardless of the fact that it's Cryfield.
Just applied! Rootes 1st choice!

Hi; I will be a postgraduate student this year in WMG International Technology Management. But I have still many questions on accomadation. And after some search my mind is more confused than before :s-smilie:

Heronbank, Claycroft and Tocil are the alternatives I need your help in my selection.

I am a social person and like having fun and drink with people. And I have some trip plans in europe for holidays. So which one is the best alternative?

I have some more questions? If anyone have some 10-15 minutes free I would like to speak in skype to ask my questions.

best regards

I'm unsure of the application procedure for postgraduate students, but if it's the same as undergraduates, then you shouldn't worry about any of this when applying. You will be required to write a short personal statement about yourself, and accommodation services will match you up with people similar to you. Therefore, just pick the accommodation block you think you would like to live in most

The problem is picking the right accomodation

Ok, if you make a rank between Heronbank, Claycroft and Tocil; which one will be the first, second and third

But they are completely different accommodation blocks...

How much are you willing to spend? Or more importantly, what's your budget? Do you want halls or flats? How close do you want to be to central campus? How close do you want to be to Tesco?

YOUR preferences should come first instead of me choosing my favourites based on my preferences which you could completely disagree with.
Hey guys! I will be an undergraduate student and I have a doubt regarding accommodation.

If I apply for 30 week let and then decide to extend it ( perhaps, stay in the campus during the easter vacations ), are there any provisions regarding extending the duration? or is there any system of vacation accommodation?

I am an international student so its not always feasible to come back home everytime.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You wouldn't be able to extend the duration (they use the buildings for conference guests) but you can get separate vacation accommodation in either Lakeside or Cryfield for £20 or £13 per night respectively. Bookings for this generally open a few weeks before the relevant vacation, and these prices may vary later on.

You'll be in the minority, I won't lie, but it's not a miniscule minority. So long as you put on your accommodation application what you've just said here, you'll be paired (as much as possible) with similar people. It should definitely not be a reason to not apply to Rootes anyway :P

I'm the same as you. Picked rootes as first and said I don't drink... Etc. Might end up in the same hall as you.

Know your preferences.

What's your budget? (the most important one). Do you want halls or flats? Do you want ensuite or non-ensuite? Do you want close to the SU/central university or somewhere quieter and more out of the way? Do you want 30 or 39 week lets?

Just get thinking along those lines, look at the Warwick Accommodation website, and your preferences will all fall eventually into place.

There are some good reviews on the first page of this topic that you can look at.
Can anyone confirm that all the rooms in Westwood have their own sink.

Hi guysss, I have a lot of questions regarding to the application for accommodation in Warwick University.
Please help me!!!
What should I write for the "Brief Description of Yourself" in my accommodation application?
Does it matter or affect the decision on my application?
Can I just write: I am a sportive person who enjoys social life. I enjoy swimming and playing all sorts of ball games.
Is every room in warwick for one person to live in only?

Thank you soooo muchhhhhh:P
